the cap and gown ordering website will open in january.  the benedictine university commencement website will be updated and notifications will go out as details are determined and completed.  it is recommended to routinely check this website for more details starting mid-january.

tips for troubleshooting if you can't access the ceremony after 1:00 p.m. cdt on sunday, october 18:
1. try refreshing your browser. it's possible you accessed the site before the video went live.
2. clear your cache to ensure you're viewing the most recent version of the site.
3. access the ceremony through the link in your email or on benedictine social media.

when will the virtual commencement take place?

it will take place on sunday, october 18, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. central time (chicago).  a link (url) will be provided on the benedictine university commencement website and sent via email once it has been finalized.


i have not received my diploma.  who do i contact for status?

the office of the registrar handle diploma distribution.  you can contact them at

hint:  don't forget to update your personal mailing address and personal email id, if you've moved, changed your name or changed email providers.  the student change information form is located at:  //


i cannot order my cap and gown.  it states to contact debra kaszuba.

When entering your BenU ID number, do not use the "B".  In addition, if your account has a financial hold you are unable to order your cap and gown.  Once you pay off your account, please have student accounts Receivable ( contact the assistant to the associate provost and the Office of the Registrar to advise them to release your cap & gown order and diploma.

on the create your graduation slide for virtual commencement website i created an account and attempted to register. the link to register looks like it’s not active. just wondering if there is something else i need to do or if it’s not available yet?

who or where do i submit the phonetic spelling of my name, picture and personal message?

all items are to be submitted directly to the create your graduation slide for virtual commencement website. 

the phonetic spelling of your name was due last friday, september 25, 1:00 p.m. central time; the option to provide phonetics of an alternative name are unavailable. 

you have until october 4 to provide a picture and personal message.
